McFadyen Pipeline Construction was engaged by Unity Alliance to deliver drainage and associated civil works as part of the Cross River Rail Clapham Stabling Yard Upgrade.
The scope included installation of stormwater drainage, insitu manholes and associated concrete stormwater structures within a live rail environment.
Works were delivered within an operational rail corridor, requiring all activities to be carefully planned and executed during Scheduled Corridor Access Scheme (SCAS) shutdown windows. This meant limited access periods and the need for precise coordination to maximise productivity on site.
The constrained environment and rail interface requirements demanded a disciplined approach to staging, safety and delivery.
McFadyen self-managed delivery on the project, taking responsibility for safety, quality and procurement throughout the works. Through detailed planning and efficient execution during SCAS shutdowns, the team successfully delivered the drainage and structure package safely, on time and in line with project requirements.
McFadyen's Scope:
1100 metres of drainage pipework across 375-1350mm diameters
40+ drainage structures including gully pit and chambers
Removed and replacement 500m3 of culvert foundation material
- Associated concrete structures
- Stormwater drainage
