Project Details:

The upgrade of the Pacific Highway between Warrell Creek and Nambucca Heads involved:

  • Design and construction of 19.5km of new dual carriageway road

  • Two grade separated interchanges at Warrell Creek and Bald Hill Road, South of Macksville

  • Longitudinal bridges across Upper Warrell Creek, Williamson Creek, Warrell Creek, Nambucca River floodplain and Nambucca River

  • Overbridges on Rosewood Road, Albert Drive, Scotts Heads Quarry access road, Bald Hill Road, Old Coast Road South, Mattick Road and Old Coast Road North and an underpass at Cockburns Lane.

McFadyen's Scope:

  • 3,250 metres of longitudinal drainage pipework from 375mm to 1800mm diameters with multi barrel culverts

  • Approximately 17,500 metres of longitudinal drainage pipework from 375mm to 1200mm diameters

  • 750 drainage structures including concrete gullies, field inlets and access chambers/manholes of varying sizes

  • Approximately 4,200m3 of excavation in rock.
